GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect on 25 May 2018 introduces changes to the information that an organisation must provide to individuals relating to how it uses and stores personal data.
Among other things this requires organisations which hold data about individuals to explain in writing to those individuals what data is held, the basis on which it is held, what purposes it is held for, the security under which it is held under and the length of time for which the data is held.
