The English Department was delighted to host the poet David Cameron for National Poetry Day. David read from his own collections and spoke to the sixth form students about the art of writing poetry, finding your poetic voice and poetic form. He also provided feedback on the students' own poems - an invaluable experience for our young writers. His talk was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and pupils alike; we hope he can return soon. We agree with him that certain lines of poetry are engrained on your soul!
Within school, we held a poetry competition in each year group. Well done to all the entrants!
