The Year 8 Mass was a joyous occasion reflecting on the theme of hope. This theme is in keeping with the announcement from Pope Francis that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, something which happens every 25 years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,” and it will be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis. The jubilee year will begin on Christmas Eve 2024 and concludes on 6th January 2026.
Fr James O'Reilly celebrated the Mass in our Assembly hall and our fantastic Junior Choir led the music for the morning. The readings and prayers selected for the Mass were focused on the theme of hope and also on welcoming our Year 8 pupils and parents to our school community, a place where we hope everyone will feel happy and safe.
The Year 8 Buddy Team and Prefects addressed the pupils encouraging them to work together, to look out for one another and contribute to our school community by sharing their gifts and talents.
