Pupil Well-being
Our school has been a 'Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing' school since 2016. Recently, the Belfast Health Partnership has revitalised this initiative together with receiving the Leeds-Beckett Carnegie Schools Award for Mental Health.
Our student leadership team, together with some of our Heads of Year, created a video to showcase the work being done in school to promote positive mental health across all year groups.
In conjunction with one of our school counsellors, Sharon Ramsden, we have created a series of videos which we hope will help our pupils achieve their full potential whilst dealing with the stresses and demands of the revision and examination period. There will be 10 videos in the series and they will include topics such as Mental Health and Well Being, Automatic Negative Thoughts and Mindful Breathing. The first two videos give a short outline of the series and then introduce four elements of Mental Health and Emotional Well Being.
In these videos, the elements of Mental Health and Emotional Well Being will be looked at in more depth and the links between what we think, what we feel and what we do, will be explored. The influence of these links on our Mental Health and Emotional Well Being will also be explored.
